The Wii U Pro is also a great controller, and actually has less flaws than the GCN controller did (no shitty D-pad, no lack of symmetry, no C-stick), but on the whole, it is not as ergonomically well laid out as the Gamecube controller was, which is why I think it loses out, at least in my opinion. It was also incredibly well made, had some pretty progressive functions (analog dual function triggers, wireless with Wavebird), and generally, was a great controller all around. Admittedly, the Gamecube controller is also my favorite controller of all time, but the thing is just ergonomical perfection- everything from its shape, to where the analog sticks were, to its buttons and how they were shaped and laid out, all of it was absolutely great and a joy to use. My answer, and I think I'm going to be a bit biased here, is the Gamecube controller. My question to you all is, between these two controllers, which one would you say was the better Nintendo controller? And all? As long as your PC already has Bluetooth, setting up a Wii Remote is much simpler than using a GameCube controller. Both represent a thorough understanding on Nintendo's part of what exactly makes a good 3D controller- great layout, incredible ergonomics, and the prioritising of functions that matter the most. If you were to ask someone what the greatest Nintendo controllers of all time were, these two would probably be the frontrunners.
